SPEAK arrived in blustery downtown Brooklyn yesterday and unloaded their van into a small apartment in the creative district. The band will live, write, play shows, and network with the industry and press for the next month as the first phase of rollout on their debut album to come this Spring/Summer via a new venture between Playing in Traffic and Modern Art Records.
The visit is framed by two shows: February 15 at Arlene’s Grocery in Lower East Side Manhattan and March 3 at Knitting Factory in Brooklyn. SPEAK will be developing new material out of their apartment as well as various writing rooms at Warner Music Group offices around Rockefeller Plaza in Midtown Manhattan.
The band will return to McAllen, Texas on March 15 for a slot at the Never Say Never Music & Arts Festival w/ Neon Trees, LMFAO, Travie McCoy, and All Time Low.
They return home for several appearances during South By Southwest Music.
